Sean Ramadhin
Founder & Lead InstructorSean's experience spans the full arc of firearms and tactical instruction. He served in the U.S. Army in Infantry, Communications and Counter Intelligence, and went on to a distinguished career in security and law enforcement.
As a federal police officer, he served as a firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, chemical weapons instructor and officer-survival instructor. With NYC law enforcement, he served as an investigator with the Gang Intelligence Unit, and as a firearms instructor with the Firearms & Tactics Unit. He is a certified NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) instructor.

Do I need any experience to take a class?
None at all. We train complete beginners who have never touched a firearm all the way through to experienced shooters. New-shooter courses cover safety, laws and regulations, fundamentals, cleaning and maintenance, marksmanship and basic tactics in a controlled, professional environment.
What does the NYS Concealed Carry course involve?
New York requires new concealed carry / pistol permit applicants to complete a 16-hour classroom course plus 2 hours of live-fire range training. Trident Tactical delivers the full state-required curriculum so you leave prepared and compliant. We also provide re-qualification certifications.
What is LEOSA / HR 218 — and can you certify retired officers?
LEOSA (the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, also known as HR 218) allows qualified retired law enforcement officers to carry a concealed firearm nationwide. We provide the firearms qualification and certification retired officers need to carry under LEOSA.
Do you offer security guard certification?
Yes. We certify armed and unarmed security guards, including the New York State 8-hour pre-assignment, 16-hour on-the-job training and the 47-hour armed guard firearms training course.
Can you train businesses, schools or realtors?
Absolutely. We offer A.L.I.V.E. active shooter response training, Stop the Bleed, CPR/AED, and dedicated firearm-safety and situational awareness courses for realtors and real estate agents. Private and group training can be arranged for organizations of any size.
